Pocket Rocket

*Split Board*

Here are some photo's for you of the new Pocket Rocket Splitboard, with 6" extension.

The basic board dimentions are 6' x 19" x 2 1/2". The center piece is 6" long, making it a 6'6" when extended.

This concept of this board is a really versitile machine (reguardless of the actual model - I happen to like the Pocket Rocket). It is the ultimate travel board for someone going on a trip, who is not sponsored, can't afford to buy or pay for the transport of 4 boards, but is going to be somewhere for sometime and needs a board for all conditions.

Nobody believes that havign one shape that adapts is going to be better than having 4 actual, specific designed boards, but what this is is the "next best thing" for those who don't have the space to travel with full size or several boards (buisness trip to LA anyone? Going to have 3 hrs off in the afternoons and want to sneak out for a surf?), or the money to pay for a quiver.

With the 4WFS fin system, and set up as a quad+1, this board can be ridden as a 6', Quad fins toed in, splayed out, and the quad cluster brought together, and you have a super manouverable board for small but nice waves. If it gets mushy, of the line-up is crowded and you need a little extra swimmign speed to outrun the pack and get on early... add the 6" section for swim on speed and "across the slow sections speed" and you have a fast board that still turns fast and is loose.

Or if it gets big and mushy, make it a 3-fin board, also toed in and splayed out with a closer fin cluster, make the board 6" long so you have drive and speed, but on a short manouverable template. If it gets big and fast and walled out and you need a gun, add teh 6" section for swim on speed and down the line drive, toe the fins out, spread them appart, and reduce the splay, and you have a mini-gun.

Of course it's not the same as having a 5'10" fish, a 6'6" Egg, a 6' Squashtail and a 6'8" mini gun... but if you only have ONE BOARD, and no room to bring it (or don't want to pay for extra baggage charges or risk them breaking a board) then this is the answer. This system has changed my life. Its so easy, such a relief of "ariline travel stress" and such a pleasure to have so many options when I get to where I'm going...

Of course, the concept - the system - can be applied to any of our boards. Its not like ONE SHAPE has to be it. Any of the boards in our line can be made like this on order.
